Hair Care Guide
Virgin hair is real hair and like your real hair, it needs some special care. Here are some tips to help you to take care of your investments:
- Like with all hair, a bit of shedding is perfectly normal. Excessive shedding can be caused from cutting the weft or excessive dryness. To minimize shedding, keep the hair moisturized and avoid cutting the wefts or sewing through them. For best results, we recommend folding the wefts and sewing around them. We also recommend sealing the wefts.
- When detangling the hair, start at the ends and work your way up to the wefts.
- To avoid product build up, we suggest using a minimal amount of hair styling products.
- DO NOT use heavy oils.
- Use sulfate-free shampoos and hydrating conditioners to wash the hair once a week.
- Brush your hair regularly to avoid tangles and knots.
- Avoid using hair sprays and gels.
PRE-INSTALLATION
- Always wash extensions before installation. We suggest doing a conditioner only wash on the hair with a moisturizing conditioner for the first time.
INSTALLATION
- Seal the wefts.
- DO NOT cut or sew through the wefts while installing the hair. Instead, fold the wefts and sew around them.
- After installation, brush the hair thoroughly.
CURLY HAIR
- When washing the hair, apply a moisture rich conditioner and comb the hair, starting with the ends and working your way up to your scalp.
- Leave the conditioner in for15 minutes or more.
- Do not massage the hair.
- Rinse thoroughly.
- Gently scrunch the hair to enhance the curls.
- Apply a dime sized amount of an anti-frizz, alcohol free serum while the hair is still damp.
- Do not use heavy oils or excessive products on curly hair, as it will cause matting.
- To avoid matting, do not brush or comb the hair while dry.
- We recommend a conditioner only wash at least 3 times a week.
NIGHT TIME CARE
CURLY HAIR BEDTIME ROUTINE
- We suggest putting your hair in one big high ponytail (pineapple) and wearing a satin scarf or bonnet before bed.
- Untie the ponytail when you wake up.
- Spray the hair with water and comb through section by section with a wide tooth comb.
- Gently scrunch your hair to enhance the curls.
- Let the hair air dry.
- Avoid touching the hair when it is wet to avoid frizz.
STRAIGHT/WAVY HAIR BEDTIME ROUTINE
- Braid your hair into one loose, large braid and wear a satin scarf or bonnet before bed.
- You can style the hair with flexi-rods for soft bouncy waves.
- After waking up, undo the braid or remove the flexi-rods and use a wide toothcomb or paddle brush to detangle the hair from starting at the ends and working your way up to the roots.
- Style as needed.
